Profile

“One of my favorite projects was making a matching coat, vest and bag using quilted Liberty fabric.”

Chapter 1 of 4

How it began

I grew up surrounded by talented women who loved to sew. My great-grandmother was a dressmaker and my grandmother was a fashion designer so sewing and embroidery were always part of my life growing up. I loved watching them create things with their hands and they were a huge inspiration to me. Their love for sewing and creativity became a part of me too, so in a way, sewing feels like continuing a beautiful family tradition

Chapter 2 of 4

Her Rosys make

My first project using Rosys Patterns was the Knit Long Sleeve Top and Ruched Maxi Skirt. I saw the design and immediately fell in love with it because it felt so me. That was actually how I discovered Rosys Patterns. After that, I decided to buy the Whole Shop Bundle and honestly, it was one of the best choices I could have made! I have already sewn quite a few Rosys designs and I really enjoy making them. The patterns are very close to my personal style and are the kind of clothes I genuinely love wearing

What it gave her

I have always been a creative person, but sewing has something very special about it. There is something so satisfying about taking a piece of fabric and a pattern and turning them into a finished garment. I also love seeing how much I improve with every new project. Each garment teaches me something different and helps me develop my skills. Sewing simply makes me happy.

One of my favorite projects was making a matching coat, vest and bag using quilted Liberty fabric. I had never sewn a coat before so it was a big step outside my comfort zone. Finishing that project gave me a lot more confidence and taught me not to be so afraid of making mistakes. Mistakes are a normal part of learning and sometimes they teach us the most. I love that there will always be new techniques and new things to discover because I think we never really stop learning

Chapter 4 of 4

Her advice

I would say: don’t wait until you feel completely ready because the best way to learn is by doing. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes and try not to compare your progress with anyone else’s. Choose projects that genuinely excite you, enjoy the process and be proud of every little improvement. Sometimes the projects that seem the most difficult are the ones that help you grow the most. Most importantly, keep creating and have fun with it!
